RWS 3359: Technical Writing
In my technical writing course, students work closely with an organization in the El Paso region. Through this collaboration, students create documents to help promote the services and needs of these organization. Students learn to work with various audiences, and they transfer rhetorical concepts learned in the classroom to the community. Below is an example of an infographic created by a student.
RWS 3355: Workplace Writing
Students engage in ethnographic research to study the communication and writing practices in their chosen professional community, and create a “guide” to help others entering that field or profession navigate its goals, genres, specialized language, and technologies and how these interact with writing.
